BRTCA First Annual Fun Day

June 5, 2010

You Are Invited!!!
1st Annual BRTCA Fun day on Saturday June 5th 2010,
Maybury State Park,
20145 Beck Road Northville, MI 48167 ( Metro Detroit Area)

The Fun Day is a non competitive gathering of BRT fanciers and anyone who is curious about the breed. It is a day set aside to showcase the amazing qualities of a BRT as a companion and the large powerful loyal working dog, that we live with day in and out; to talk BRTs, to network with other owners, to have FUN and raise money for BRT Rescue! No competition, no pressure, just pure fun and love for the breed! Every year we try something different to attract more attention to the BRTS and get more people involved.

Master Trainer Bernie Van Pelt from Canada will give a lecture on “How to become a loving and fair leader of your BRT.” Bernie is very knowledgeable about the BRT and we are thrilled that he has agreed to join us.

Other scheduled activities include:

◊ A BBQ lunch and raffle

◊ Schutzhund protection demonstration showcasing the working qualities of the BRT for which they were initially developed

◊ Demonstration on how to get started in weight pulling

◊ Games (with and without dogs) and prizes

◊ Fun BRT quiz for kids and prizes

◊ Rally Obedience demonstration with an opportunity to try the course with your BRT

◊ BRT powered cart rides for the kids

◊ BRT Costume contest

The BRT FUN Day is held out of doors at a beautiful state park in Michigan. Our pavilion at Maybury State park is a stone’s throw from the bathrooms, the playground and a wonderful slightly hilly area that is perfect for our demonstrations.

The Maybury park can be viewed here:

The hotel is located in a nice area with many restaurants and shopping malls. The park is only 5 miles away from the hotel and is very easy to get to, plus if you do bring your dog, the pet fee at the hotel is only $25.00.
